“Study mode”, “Child mode” – the Guided Access feature from Apple goes by many names. Essentially it keeps your child from leaving the app you want them to stay on. And we’re here to show you how.
Step 1: Click on Settings from your iPad home screen.
Step 2: Select “General” and then “Accessibility”.
Step 3: Scroll down and select “Guided Access”.
Step 4: Turn on Guided Access by toggling the button – The button should turn green.
Step 5: Select “Passcode Settings”.
Step 6: Select “Set Guided Access Passcode”.
Step 7: Set a 4-digit passcode.
Tip: The 4-digit passcode should be different from your login passcode.
Step 8: Open the Tutate App and click the iPad Home button three times in quick succession.
Step 9: You’ll see the message “Guided Access Started” and you can hand the iPad to your child.
Step 10: To Exit Guided Access when your child has completed their Tutate assignment, simply triple-click the iPad home button and enter your passcode.
